Here are 6 reasons I like buying tickets on Stubhub:
1. Stubhub is the 2nd largest marketplace for event tickets on the web. This translates into greater selection (variety of prices, sections, etc.) Stubhub is advertised as “where fans buy and sell tickets.” The truth is, the vast majority of Stubhub’s inventory is from Ticket Brokers - therefore you have a much larger selection than other sites.
2. StubHub is super user friendly. You can easily see the seating chart and quickly compare how much seats costs in a particular section. It’s great to be able to see what the price differences are between upper and lower level, or between the 50 yard line and the 40 yard line. You can also sort the tickets by quantity - so finding a odd size group (like 3) or a large group (like 20) is a snap!
3. StubHub has an awesome guarantee. Even though you are not buying from StubHub direct, they take ownership of the transaction. Meaning, if you don’t get the seats you bought in time for the game, they purchase comparable (or better) tickets and have them available for pickup near the event. No worrying about the Seller being honest, or your tickets being counterfeit.
4. You don’t need a Paypal account. Simply use your Credit Card like any other online merchant.
5. Toll Free Customer Service. Call their 800 number to place an order, check on your purchase, or ask a question.
6. All tickets are shipped via FedEx, and are trackable the entire trip from the Seller to you.
To be fair, there are a few things I don’t love about StubHub:
1. Even though StubHub has an awesome guarantee - you are still buying from another person who could have signed up yesterday and might be selling fraudulent tickets. You’re protected, so it doesn’t matter, but it still crosses my mind every time I purchase.
2. You are required to use FedEx (which is a plus because they are reliable) but you also have to pay for their fees (usually $17-$25.)
3. In addition to shipping, Buyers pay 10% over the price listed on the site (sellers pay 15% of the selling price.) As a result, I find that tickets bought on StubHub are always more expensive than other sites like eBay. The 10% surcharge on top of the already inflated sales price adds up quickly.
Take a moment to check out www.StubHub.com for your next ticket purchase.
